What We Do:

Post Adoptive Services

Post-adoptive services are available through Children's Bureau for ANY family that has adopted, even if we did not facilitate your adoption.

These services are meant to complete a comprehensive system of care that allows families to find support after adoption.

Our services begin with a comprehensive, strengths-based assessment with the child and family. A Children's Bureau staff member will help the family convene a team that includes other family members, informal supports, and professionals to form a collaborative plan of care with clearly defined goals.

The post-adopt provider will address the need for and monitor a crisis plan with the family and team members. The plan of care for the family may include assistance in connecting with other community resources, behavioral health care services, respite, and/or support groups.
